Why Are Higher Yogas Important
What are higher yogas and why are they so important?
When people think about yoga, they picture calm-looking folks twisting their bodies into pretzel-like shapes. But yoga has so much more to offer.
After a routine of authentic asana (exercises), including a 10-minute "deep relaxation" practice, you’ll feel very relaxed. Many students say they feel better after their first class than they have for years. However, if we sent you home after the postures, what would happen if, let’s say, someone cut you off on the freeway? Or if you arrived at home or work and someone was upset with you? Would you stay relaxed? For most people, these stressful situations would put all that tension back into their body. That’s why we teach what we call Higher Yogas.
At Yoga Center Higher Yogas includes philosophy and techniques from:
- Raja Yoga
- Bhakti Yoga
- Jnana Yoga
- Kundalini Yoga
- Laya Yoga
- Karma Yoga
- Ashtanga Yoga
- Mantra Yoga
- Metaphysics, Mysticism
The Higher Yogas techniques we teach allow you to quickly release the chaos in your mind and emotions that puts that tension into your body in the first place. This not only gives you peace of mind, but also improves your health and opens the door to an inner power that thousands of students have discovered at Yoga Center classes.
The Higher Yogas techniques include meditation practices that take 5-15 minutes and life mastery practices that you do during a busy day to help you stay calm and focused in even the most stressful situations.
